Gvt delays November pay for civil servants asks for patience

The government through the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has asked all civil servants to be patient as a crucial migration process will delay their November salaries.

In a memo directed to all heads of government departments, the Ministry says due to a mandatory migration to the new payroll system, Human Resource Information System (HRIS – KENYA).

“This is to bring to your attenction that there is a delay in processing the November, 2024 salary. The delay has been occassioned by the State Department for Public Service requirement that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to migrate from old manual Integrated Personnel Payroll Database (IPPD) to the new Human Resource Information System (HRIS – KENYA),” reads part of the memo.

“This is to request you to be patient as the process is being finalized. Kindly bring this information to all officers under your supervision,” reads the memo.

Many county government were yet to pay ECDE teachers their November salaries. However TSC teachers had received their pay from main stream banks and Saccos starting Monday.

Many teachers lamented after the government chopped off the payslip earnings further for Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

The gvernment plans to slash the take home further after introducing a new medical cover for all teaches and civil servants.

The new medical scheme known as Public Service Medical Scheme is scheduled to start in January after going through the necessary process.
