Many coast schools benefited from William Ruto’s visit at the coast. Among the schools that enjoyed goodies from the deputy president include Voi high school in Taita Taveta county, Jomo Kenyatta primary school and Kingwede girls secondary school both located in Kwale county.
At Jomo Kenyatta primary school the DP awarded the school with a cheque worth Kshs 8.4M that will go towards various projects in the school including the construction of modern classrooms. It should be noted that its in this school that the first president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta developed complications that led to his death on 22nd August 1978, since then the school changed its name to Jomo Kenyatta memorial primary school to commemorate the passing away of the great leader.
The deputy president also awarded Kshs 5.4M to Voi high school to fund its development agenda.
The DP handed a new bus to Kingwede Secondary School and told Msambweni MP Dori to go and collect from the DP’s office Sh50 million for his area youth polytechnic, any time.
“We will do to Kwale what we are doing in all Kenya counties. We are ready to work with all the leaders in Kwale because our agenda is the people, not politics,” he said.
