Brainston Academy Githurai calls it quit over effects of Covid-19

Brainston Academy has finally called it quits over what they termed careful deliberations following lengthy effects of Covide-19.

In a painful letter to parents Brainston Academy management said they have reached the decision to permanently close the school and therefore parents should look for other schools to take their children.

This comes at a time when KPSA chairman Peter Ndolo had raised eyebrows that more than a hundred private schools may not reopen when schools resume January 2021.

Private schools under KPSA umbrella had written to government for approval of kshs. 7 billion to help in management and running of the schools.

The government has agreed to give the kshs 7 billion to bail out the staggering private schools.

Brainston Academy is among the few which have announced permanent closure over harsh effects of Covid-19.

Below is the letter written by Brainston Academy Githurai to parents.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

RE; NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF BRAINSTON ACADEMY, GITHURAI 45

Due to the challenges occasioned by the closure ofschools as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, and after lengthy and careful  deliberations, the management of Brainston Academy Githurai has arrived at the painful  decision to close the school permanently.

This  means that we will not re-open when schools resume in  January  or at the date which the Ministry of Education will announce reopening of schools. We are therefore informing you so that you may have time to look for other schools for your children.

All  the relevant Ministry of Education offices have been  informed of the decision  and the requirements for

closure forwarded to them.  We will communicate to you when you can come and pick up any items that you may have left in school,

We sincerely thank you for your support and wish you and your children the best as they continue to pursue their education.
